HANDING GUIDE FOR WINDOWS

Looking from the inside of the window towards the outside, if the hinges are on the right hand side then you require a Right Hand handle (and if the hinges are on the left then you require a Left Hand handle).

HANDING GUIDE FOR DOORS

Looking from the outside of the door, if the lock is on the left hand side of the door then you require a Left Hand handle (and if the lock is on the right then you require a Right Hand handle).

Why are some of our window handles handed?

At Hardwick we prioritise practical design that works with modern locking systems for the modern high performance windows of today.

To allow easy use, the window handles are often cranked away from the edge of the window to allow you to get your hand around the handle. This then results in them being handed (left hand and right hand).

WHAT MAKES OUR DOOR HANDLES HANDED?

Security is a key consideration on modern doors, and at Hardwick we've designed our door handles to have no visible bolt fixings on the external face of the door.

For many door handles this doesn't make any difference because the lever is identical for the external and internal set. Door handles only become handed when the design of the external lever cannot be flipped and used internally.
